Joe focuses his practice on both transactional and litigation matters involving complex loans and structured transactions. He regularly represents private equity funds, asset managers, financial institutions, public and private corporations, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and other investment vehicles in complex domestic and cross-border investment and financing transactions, focused on real estate, finance, and creditors’ rights matters, including distressed and special situations enforcement actions. This includes the structuring, acquisition, and disposition of real estate and other asset-backed loans and investments, as well as other highly structured special situation transactions across a wide range of industries and sectors. Joe has advised on and closed hundreds of investment transactions worth billions of dollars.

Joe earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2001, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as business manager of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. He received his B.S. from Florida State University in 1996.

As an HFA Regional Director-at-Large, Joe draws on his extensive experience to broaden the association’s reach and develop events that unite HFA members, foster meaningful connections, and advance the alternative investment industry.
