Nick P. Tootle spearheads assurance and tax engagements for clients in various industries with a focus in the financial services field. His clients rely on his insights ranging from organizational structuring to compliance with accounting and regulatory rules. Nick advises clients across the investment industry, including broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and other specialty finance entities.
In addition to traditional assurance and tax services, Nick leads engagements for investment advisors related to performance reporting. He also works with investment advisors on compliance with the SEC Custody Rule by performing surprise examinations, trust company internal control examinations and independent representative services. Since joining Kaufman Rossin in 1993, Nick has worked with clients on due diligence, internal controls, financial analyses, financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers and acquisitions and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures.
In the 2000s, Nick served as chief financial officer for a NASDAQ-listed global pharmaceutical development services company. During that time, the company successfully raised funds through a secondary offering and made acquisitions.
Nick serves on the board of directors of The Education Fund. He is also a member of the University of Miami’s Citizens Board, the Miami Finance Forum, the Hedge Fund Association and the Financial Markets Association. Nick was formerly appointed to the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Audit Committee and served from 2006 through 2010.
He is a CPA in Florida and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
